Congratulations

Hi all:

Congratulations are in order for my friend.

We met on line over five years ago and became fast friends instantly.  Although we had only met face-to-face once during that time, we now keep in contact by chatting on line, by telephone, emails and texts regularly.  And spent our summer vacation together with our other "diva" friends Lori and Sharon at GASC this year.  We plan to make this an annual event!

We find that we have so much in common; including our love of crafting among so many other things.

My mother always said that "in your life-time you'll only have five real and true friends."  And I always hear that ringing in my ears whenever I'm talking to Vivian.

Some people really do come into your life for a season.  And I'm ever so thankful that Vivian has come into mine.  For a lifetime. I consider her to be real, honest, helpful, encouraging, sweet, and caring.  She's so funny too!  She's a beauty inside and out.

Vivian is retiring from the United States Airforce military and has served our great country with grace, dignity, honor, commitment and passion for 26 years.  She is a force to be reckoned with: a veteran and educated and a Diva. BAM!!

Please help me in saluting

Senior Master Sergeant Vivian Bolden

29 Faces Art Challenge (1,2,&3)

Hi all:

Just a quick post this evening.

As you know, since I've been in the process of reorganizing my room.  So much of my materials and craft supplies are packed away and I'm just too lazy to check  through the many boxes and pull them out. Therefore, I've been sketching a lot.

Well, since I've been working more and more in my art journals and sketching, I decided to join in on the fun at http://29faces.blogspot.com/p/sept2014.html.

The challenge is to do just that.  Create 29 faces and blog about it.  What fun.  And educational too. For me anyway!  No real rules. Sketch a face. Paint a face. Use markers to give the face color. Do anything that you want. Any size, any medium, material or surface.  Any level of expertise is welcome.   Ya Gotta Love it!  Which is something that I really love.

I love to sketch faces. But I don't like to paint faces. LOL.  I haven't quite gotten the hang of shading and such.  But I do like how my "sketches" turn out.  I can pat myself on the back I suppose, since people do buy the painted canvases, (and sometimes right out of my journals) right?!  Either way, I don't do it to get paid, but it is definitely a bonus!

This is #s 1, 2, and 3

Be prepared to see lots of faces from me for the next couple of weeks thru the end of September.  I'll be trying out a few things that have been forming in my head recently! LOL.

So, if you like to draw faces; silly faces, serious faces, smiling faces, sad faces...ANY kind of face on any kind of surface, using any medium of your choosing, then you should join in on the fun.

You can check out many of the other participants' work here

Until next time
Always,

I hope you enjoyed your little trip through my sketch book.

Please leave me a little bit of love so that I know that you were here.

More Pages from my Sketch Book

Hi all:

I'm back again with those pages that I talked about in my last post.  That's right, more sketches!
I'm having fun doing them while so much of my scrappy supplies are packed away.  It keeps me busy, and crafty, when I can't make cards or do scrapbook layouts or altered art.

I find that it's really hard to photograph sketches.  So if you've got some great tips for doing so, please help me out....

So, here is some more pages for you to take a peek at.  Don't forget to leave me some bloggy love.  I always look forward to hearing from you.

Sketches 2014

Hi all:
I'm always so excited when I can sit still long enough to post to my blog.  I neglect it so much for weeks at a time.  Not because I want to, but because there's so many other things that I need to take care of.

Like still trying to get my space in some kind of order.  Granted, it is absolutely nothing to look at, but I'm trying to have a space for everything.  And if I can't and I can do without it, I'll be donating it to somewhere, somebody, some time very soon.

So, what have I been doing crafty?

Well, if I'm not doing a page in my art journal, I'm working on sketches.  It's something that I've been doing for a long time.  Never have I said that I was a sketch artist.  But I think with each time; I get better.  I keep trying my hand at actually painting the sketches, but I never really learned how to do "shading for skin tones." So I find that I really like how my sketches come out, so why "mess them up trying to paint them?" And so I just don't.  Remember the song "I love you just the way you are"?  That's how I've been feeling.

I've been sketching like crazy.  Anywhere, everywhere.  People who are interested in what I do are always asking me "who" the sketches are of?  And I have to say "who does it look like?" Because I'm not that good! They're from my imagination.  Don't get me wrong, I get "inspired" by someone that I've seen or crossed paths with, but they're really no one in particular. And if they look like someone you know, then that's great, it means that I'm getting better at it!

These are some of those pages in my sketch book

I have a lot of pages to post.  But it's hard photographing sketches. I'm no expert...teehee!
But they'll show up really soon.....

Thanks for dropping by. Please come again!

Art Journal Pages

Hi all:
Thanks for stopping by!

I'm still cleaning and purging and making room in my space.  So, again, I'm doing a lot of art journaling instead of making layouts and cards and altered art pieces.  These are some of those pages....

Of course, there are a lot more pages that I've done. And I'll be posting those soon too.  Although I'm having a good time working in my journals. I'm ready to create some cards.  I think that I might have to go searching through the boxes (no, I wasn't smart enough to really put things away in a orderly fashion and be able to easily put my hands on it...sigh).  But it's the weekend, so I'll make the time!

Again, thanks for stopping by. Leave me some love. I'd appreciate it.

World Art Drop Day

Hi all

As usual, life got in the way of my crafty life and I've been pretty busy with everything except crafting. Although I find time to do something every day, I don't always find the time to photograph and post to several sites.

But here I am today to share a bit of news that you might find of interest.  On
Tuesday, September 2, 2014 join fellow crafty people and artists from around the world in

So what does "artists" mean?  Students, professionals, painters, cartoonists, sculptors, illustrators, animators, altered arts, designers, EVERYONE who creates!  Yes, YOU!

Here's how it works!

1. Draw or paint a picture or make some other form of art.
2.Take a photo of the art, the hiding place or a combination of both.
3. Post the image, the City that you dropped it in, and a hint of where to find the art, to the finder on any social media of your choice. Facebook, Tweet, Blog or tell someone in person.
Be sure to include the hashtag #artdropday
4.  Then move on, hoping that someone finds it.  Or, hang around and meet your new friend.
5.  Don't forget to include some information about yourself on a  tag, etc. and where to reply and let us know of their find.

Exciting!
I'll be dropping several pieces between here, other counties, and along New Jersey.  Hopefully, the finders of my art will make contact and it will be positive!

So, will you be joining the rest of us? I promise that you'll feel good knowing that your art is providing some kind of joy to its finder. And if they don't like it; maybe they know someone that will... Art has a way of finding its rightful owner.

New Art Journal Pages

Hi everyone:
I'm glad that you stopped by to visit my little piece of blogland.

It's so true that there just isn't enough time in the day to get all of the things that need to be done finished.  Especially if any of that time is used to have fun right?  The normal work day can just drag on and on and on...but as soon as you start having fun - whoosh! it just goes by so fast.

Progress is being made on getting my room back together.  Nothing fancy mind you. But efficient.  And so even though I'm still finding time to craft; which happens six days outta seven, I haven't had the chance to really post anything, anywhere.  I haven't joined in on many challenges either.  But I do try to keep up with what's going on so that I'm not lost in the craft queendom.

I've been working a lot in my art journals.  Of course that's maily because so many items to be used in making cards and scrapbooking and altered art are packed away.  I find it relaxing.  And even though I can't always colorize my pages, I find that I can still do sketches no matter where I'm at.  At work. The doctor's office. On the bus or train. Even in the kitchen while cooking. LOL.

I've posted several of those pages below.  I hope that you like them.

I so enjoy doing the SheArt paintings. This is one of my favorites.
Completed using acrylic paints, Copics, and Chalk markers.

I saw a little girl walking with her mother, holding hands.
Her red ribbon was about to come out of her hair...

I was in a very happy mood and wanted to use a lot of different colors.
This was done using my water color paints.

I completed  this journal page while listening to the new Pharrell Williams hit single "Happy!"

It was a slow day at work. I was bored...lol

I've been holding on to these wing die cuts that I received from my friend, Sharon S.  It was the perfect time to use them along with my new wood grain stencil, Dylusion spray inks, and contact paper.

I have lots more pages to show you; but I'll save them for another time.

Please, while you're here, leave a comment.  I so look forward to reading them!
I'll be back soon.

Until then,
Hugs+Kisses

Long time no see...

Hello out there in Blogland!

It's been awhile since I've posted anything...and boy oh boy I've been so busy "just living!"  And although I've been doing lots of projects for the groups and sites that I like to frequent, there isn't always time to take photos and post here and on other crafty sites.  But I do like to keep up with things whenever possible just so that Mojo doesn't run away from home.

However, I noticed that it's been an entire month since I posted to my own blog. Geez!! And I figured it was high time that I get back into the swing of things posting here in my little piece of the world.

And I'm happy that you decided to drop by for a moment to see what I've been up to.  I won't go into a lot of detail; except to write little captions to the photos though; as I'm playing nursemaid to a sick, little boy, and don't want to make too much noise while he's trying to get some rest in my bed.

It's been kinda hard doing a lot of projects.  I'm in the process of de-cluttering my space....And most of my supplies are packed in boxes.  Why is it that in order to clean up, you have to 'mess' up???  Because that's exactly what's going on right now, my room is a mess!  Sigh...I am being told by my son, who's putting up shelves and building for me "small steps Ma, small steps."  Who asked him?! LOL.  I want to be Barbara Eden...as a genie...I want to cross my arms, blink, nod my head and voila! Room complete!  Hey I can dream can't I?!

Ok. That's all for now.  I'll be back soon!
