Art Journal

Hi everyone:
I hope that you all enjoyed your Valentine's Day and have memories worth holding on to.  And if you joined in on the SOC Hearts and Roses Blog Hop, and you signed up to become a follower of this blog and left a comment about the projects that I contributed to the hop; then be sure to stop by on Monday, Feb. 17th to see if you've won the blog candy that I have up for grabs.  If you haven't hopped along, you're missing out on some great Valentine's and love themed projects contributed....and some candy....but you still have time. Check it out here.

I've been trying to do a couple of pages a week in my art journal. And the thing about art journaling is that you either love the page or hate it.  Sometimes, my best work has come about as the result of a mistake. And other times, I know exactly what I'm going for and it works out perfectly.  And then there are times that I really screw up a page.  I'm trying hard to embrace my mistakes and keep those pages in the journal, but there are  times when I tell myself "no way, I don't want anyone to see this!"

This happens to be one of my favorites though.  I used my Lindy's Stamp Gang inks in Tiffany Lou Blue, Ravishing Ruby and Van Dyke Sepia to create the page background and then again to create the butterflies that were punched with my MS punch.

I'll be sharing more pages from my journal here soon.
So, until next time
Hugs+Kisses

Oh wow Renee...stunning!!!! I LOVE all the butterflies! I've been on the fence about making an art journal for so long, but just haven't done it yet. I got some Faber Castell Gelatos that I really want to use in one, but I'm not sure if I would ever be able to write anything..even just a little, on the pages. I guess I could just keep it strictly for art. How do you use yours?

I wanted to stop by and give a tremendous THANK YOU for your sweet comments on my blog last week during the MFP blog hop. The sweet words make blogging and crafting that much more fun!!
