Challenges / December 2013

Hi crafty ladies:

Let me begin by saying that I wish you and yours nothing but the best of Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah and a Blessed New Year!

It has definitely been a busy, busy week for me.  Some of it good. Some of it bad.  But as the saying goes "I've had my ups and downs, but I'm still here." Amen?

Anyway the card  below is being entered into several challenges this week:

Entered:
Outlawz Twisted Thursday

The base of the card is a paper bag; on which I attached the white embossed card stock.  The leaves were cut free-hand and are also made of paper bags.  That cute little reindeer was embossed using Inkadinkado bronze powder and heat set.  I then used my scallop scissors (I know, who still uses those things?!) ME! ...to make the rolled flowers.  It's hard to tell from the picture because the lighting was not good; but the flowers are actually three different colors: red, gold and silver.  I added a little bit of floral moss just because a little voice inside my head told me to!  It's actually not a very big card...I'd say that the bag was of medium size; approx. 8x4".  So when folded in half it's pretty small.

Anyway, that's it from me tonight folks...must give my brain a rest!

Your card turned out just lovely and I love how you can take something like a paper bag and bring out its beauty. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us at Mema's Crafts. We hope to see you again real soon. Good Luck.

The heat embossed bronze embossing powder really makes this a beauty of a reindeer! And I'm really impressed by how your hand cut leaves turned out. And those flowers, made using scissors - brilliant! Thanks for joining our Anyhthing Goes cahellenge over at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday!

Lovely card. The flowers are pretty. I just made a bunch of paper sack cards myself. Aren't they fun.
